NE1's Marketing channels offer comprehensive reach for businesses within the city centre, allowing them to speak to NE1's engaged regional audience across multiple channels and resulting in a demonstrable uplift in awareness and sales. 

Newcastle Restaurant Week is one of NE1's most successful and impactful events, a twice-annual celebration of Newcastle's burgeoning restaurant sector which delivers meaningful and measurable results across the city.

Screen on the Green is NE1's much-loved open-air cinema in the heart of the city, showing two free films a day throughout the school summer holidays, enlivening Old Eldon Square and driving repeat visits into the city from families throughout July and August.

Alive after Five was launched in October 2010 and remained in place until the Covid pandemic. It was both a response to the challenge of online competition and the result of NE1 having identified the huge commercial opportunity that lay in bridging the gap between Newcastle’s daytime and evening offers.

In the wake of the Covid pandemic in 2021, NE1 created Summer in the City, a series of interventions and activities to bring people back into the city and encourage repeat visits throughout the six-week school holidays.

As a strategic priority for the company, NE1 has identified a huge opportunity to improve and expand Newcastle’s Christmas and New Year offering to attract more visitors to the city centre and increase footfall and trade during the festive period.

Activating Newcastle’s iconic River Tyne has been a core objective of NE1 since its establishment, whether through the Newcastle City Marina, or a calendar of events and activities taking place on the water. Newcastle’s Dragon Boat Race is now established as one of the river’s annual events and a key part of NE1’s events delivery.
